Data VanX handles locally
VanX may process clipboard content, clip metadata, user-created labels and collections, preferences, encrypted-library keys, protected or quarantined items, and diagnostics needed to operate the app. By default, this information remains on your Mac. Core clipboard management, search, local storage, and on-device processing work without a VanX account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or remote AI service.
VanX does not sell personal data, use personal data for advertising, or track you across apps or websites.
Optional network features
VanX does not automatically send clipboard content to a VanX-operated service. Network features are disabled by default and require a user action or explicit opt-in. When enabled and used, these features contact the relevant third-party destination directly from your device:
A URL you copied or selected
Retrieve a site icon
OffA URL you copied or selected
Retrieve page-title or related preview metadata
OffA URL you select for preview
Retrieve media or preview content
OffThe query you review and submit, plus any approved public-page URLs in the configured scope
Retrieve public web sources for research
OffThese requests are sent to the relevant website, its content-delivery provider, or another destination necessary to provide the selected feature. Those third parties may process request metadata, such as your IP address, under their own policies. VanX does not control those policies.
Before a Web Sources run, VanX presents the outbound query and source scope for review. You can decline, cancel, disable network features, or remove locally stored results at any time.
Storage, security, and retention
VanX stores its library locally on your device inside the app sandboxed container.
Uses encryption at rest and macOS security services to protect applicable data and key material.
Retention is controlled by user-facing deletion controls; users manage backups independently.
VanX stores its library locally on your device. The app uses encryption at rest and macOS security services to protect applicable local data and key material. Retention is controlled by the app’s user-facing library and deletion controls. Removing an item, clearing the library, or uninstalling the app affects data stored on that device; users should also manage backups independently.
Your choices
You can use VanX without enabling optional network features. You can disable those features in Settings → Privacy & Network, decline or cancel an outbound request, and use the app’s controls to delete local clips and other local content. macOS system privacy settings and permissions also control relevant platform access.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, VanX will update the effective date and publish the revised policy at the App Store Connect Privacy Policy URL for VanX before or with the related release.
